TINGTING PENG

I was born in China and was raised just outside of Boston, Massachusetts.  I graduated from MIT with a degree in Management Science and a minor in Economics.  While at MIT, I worked for a handful of startups in ecommerce, internet, media and healthcare, was webmaster for my sorority Alpha Phi, Boston University's Army ROTC, and MIT's substance abuse office, consulted at a tech/media/telecom strategy firm, and choreographed dance pieces for the campus dance troupe.  And yes, I also studied.

 

Immediately after college, I joined Morgan Stanley in its Investment Banking division as an M&A analyst.

 

Since then, I have...

traded long/short equities at a startup multi-strategy hedge fund,

analysed companies at Fortress Investment Group's Global Macro Fund,

turned a passive real estate portfolio into an active development business,

built a property investment portfolio,

launched a resort property management business,

qualified as an international yoga teacher,

pioneered community and corporate events for yoga and wellness around the world,

managed a not-for-profit global photobook initiative,

helped to develop social businesses in China, Mongolia and Southeast Asia,

coached a number of budding entrepreneurs across industries on their businesses, 
crafted sales & marketing campaigns for several real estate projects in the US,

acted as liason to Chinese investors on behalf of the UK Department for International Trade,

developed investor relationships in N. America, Europe, Middle East and Asia, 

launched a new health & fitness company, and 

advised a number of emerging investment firms on getting institutional ready.

 

I am currently focused on: non-exec / trustee board positions, start-up advisory (fundraising, strategy, comms, ESG), and new investment opportunities.

Besides family and friends, my loves include: traveling, snowboarding, scuba diving, outdoor activities, the sun, the ocean, amusement parks, MOOCs, reading, and eating good food.  I care about and support causes focusing on the environment, social equality and children's welfare.
